We have had a few exploratory trips over the past two weeks.    Actually the best striper fishing has been right at my dock.  I set a timer for 30 minutes, Sam, goes to the front of the boat and drops a baited hook straight down.   The record is 20 minutes in there is a striper with an American Littoral Society tag returned to the water.  We have tagged and released 7 in the past couple of days.  The pond is pretty loaded with under sized fish.

All systems on the Carol J have been checked out, we have bait, rigs, tackle, ice and everything we will need to provide an excellent fishing experience.  Our second exploratory trip is set for this Tuesday.   I pipe line of information tells me the stripers have hit the Island with reports of many undersized fish being caught and released.   We are proud to be able to be a part of the American Littoral Society fish tagging program.  My goal is to tag and release north of a 100 fishing this season.  With all the small fish around that should be no problem.   Sam as tagged the 7 stripers he caught at the dock and has make a really nice measuring board to facilitate the tag and release process.

We have the lobster pots soaking and have enjoyed our first four lobsters of the season.  Our lobster charters are a perfect gift for a family.  Contact the captain for details.
